| you can use a slab with inverted beams in short span add column each 4m the span of inverted beam will be 12 meter the size of inverted beam 40cm width * 90 cm depth with 8T25 bottom reinforcemnt will be good the size of slab to use it can be 20 cm use secondary beam perpendicular to inverted beam each 3meter the size of this beam can be 20cm width x 60 cm depth with botm reinforcemnt 4t16 but at the dome area you have to increase the rinforcemnt of inverted beam wich will carry the dome the size of columns can be 30cm x 70 cm but keep the strong inertia of column to be with direction of inverted beam to resist the moment that will transfer from inverted beam to the columns |

| First of all I would like to thank Eng. Mecheil Edwar for being the first engineer to give hand in a Mosque design. Second, I would like to be more helpful if we get the architectural drawings and give propper engineering answer to the request, as I'm personally push structural engineers to work properly. As a try to help and based on the type of question, , you can use a system of panelled beams with two beams in the longitudinal direction and three beams in the short dirction . This will give you pannels of Approximately 4m X 4.25m. All beams shall be of 400mm width and 900 mm thickness. The reinforcement of all beams would be 9 T25 mm bottom, 4 T 16 Top and stirrups of 10 mm - 4 branches with spacing 150 mm. Steel shall be High Grade Steel. The slab thickness would be 120 mm. Please note that i assume that you have sufficient beams and columns in the perimeter or you can provide a column at each beam end. Please ask a structural engineer near your location for help . I hope this will help you . |

I have designed one mosque in UAE by the same system I have used a beams and solid slab if you would like to use crossed beams or panneld beams it is okay and acceptable. but finally you will get the same amount of reinforcement if you use beams in one direction or if you use a panneled beams but panneled beams will be more safe because it will link all columns by beams which will improve the work of structure in both directions x and y regards to all |
